CAMH Education celebrates Bisexual Awareness Week

This week (Sept. 21-27) has been internationally designated as Bisexual Awareness Week, with Tuesday, Sept. 22 marking Celebrate Bisexuality Day.

CAMH has many resources on bisexuality, in a wide range of areas. Here is a sampling of what is available for access.

CAMH Publications has several books and brochures that focus on bi issues, including these downloadable PDFs:

For other publications, check for LGBTQ under Population group (http://store.camh.ca/home.php?cat=125) in the CAMH Publications store.

Back in June, CAMH Library Services put together a comprehensive list of research and information tools for Pride Week, many of which are applicable to the bisexual community. Review that blog post here:

CAMH Health Systems and Health Equity Research Group’s Researching for LGBTQ Health website features the This is Our Community: Bisexual Anti-Stigma Poster Campaign along with other information:

EEnet has a downloadable Research Snapshot reviewing the survey Bisexual People’s Experiences with Mental Health Services: A qualitative investigation:

If you visit Portico, you can learn about the research study LGBTQ Extension.  This study is anticipated to produce a conceptual model of community for LGBTQ people with mental health concerns, “guides” to community participation for consumers and providers, and will lay the groundwork for more extensive lines of research and advocacy.  You can visit the Community Reconsidered site to find out more.
